Grace Harvie

I am a 20 year old artist from Camberley, Surrey. I'm currently based between Surrey and Coventry where I study at the University of Warwick.

My work is mostly large-scale, hyper-realistic oil painting, and my imagery surrounds high-focus, up close portraiture.

My first series The Seven Deadly Sins is self-designed, self-modelled and self-photographed, and it's focussed on a fusion between visual symbolism, colour, and facial expression, a theme which unites my newest work over the last 3 years.

Currently, I'm working on shoots for a new series which will explore the interplay between emotion, colour, light and texture in various facial subject matter. I'm inspired by the ways in which art can communicate itself through colour psychology and recognisable motifs, so a large part of my process is spent brainstorming, mood-boarding and creating fresh and eye-catching colour palettes.

This is just the beginning of my artistic journey, and I strive to develop my skills and experience while growing in my local artist community, surrounding myself with others who share my passion.
